Makeup as an accessory to every woman’s natural beauty. That conceptualization of cosmetics is one of the things that sets Tearra Vaughn’s Reimage Beauty apart from other companies in the health and beauty space.
Tearra was not without other prospects when she decided to launch Reimage Beauty. Trained as both a computer engineer and a lawyer, she was working in intellectual property law when she decided to go all in on her beauty brand.
It was her own dermatological sensitivities that prompted Tearra to create the initial Reimage products, a line of lip glosses. Positive feedback gave her the encouragement she needed to leave her corporate career. She’s been pretty busy since.
Tearra’s used Reimage as a jumping-off point to launch Smart in Beautiful, a program that directs money from every purchase of Reimage products into organizations that support women’s health and self-esteem initiatives rooted in science, tech, engineering, arts, and math.
And she was featured in The Limited’s campaign, “The New Look of Leadership,” which showcased thirty women who have become leaders in different fields.
Tearra’s advice as a spokeswoman in that initiative bears repeating here: “Always remember the little girl within—the one who lived life without bounds…She is you—wiser, experienced, and equipped to lead.”
