Justin Bieber may have co-opted the SEO on Sharon Podobnik Peterson’s business, Go Love Yourself. But she’s cool with that. Sharon is a pretty zen entrepreneur, and she wants to share the gift of self-care that helped her get that way. That’s why she founded the Go Love Yourself subscription box.
Sharon’s initial calling in life was education. She rose steadily through the ranks from teaching middle school math in a challenging public school to adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University, a position she holds today.
As it is for many women in demanding social service careers, her calling proved to be her undoing. Sharon reached a breaking point when she was offered a principalship while on her honeymoon. It was time for a change.
Turning to reading for answers was a natural choice for this educator, and Sharon realized there was a much wisdom between the pages of a lot of great books…and a lot of wonderful women-owned businesses making products that supported the restoration of body and soul. Why not put it all together in beautiful packages and deliver these little life rafts to women’s doors every month?
That’s the idea behind the Go Love Yourself subscription box. It brings the tools for change to your doorstep, curated by someone who’s been there…and back.
Sharon has a special spot in her heart for women making the transition to entrepreneurship. “I know how hard it is to start a business. When I switched careers, I relied on other women to help me forge my path and navigate complexity. That's just one reason that I collaborate with and coach 5-10 new women-owned businesses each month, giving them the exposure they need to jumpstart their business and put their product or service into the hands of hundreds of new potential customers.”
Maybe Sharon will send a Go Love Yourself box to J.B. After all, guys can burn out too.
