"Why can't I have both?" This was the question Samantha Dong posed to herself while pondering the problem of heels. Creating her company, Ally Shoes, answered that question with a resounding: You CAN, girl!
Power and comfort are the two options that Samantha was considering when she asked herself that fateful question. She loved the look and especially the confidence that came with wearing heels. The price for that boost was pain, however, especially after she sustained a foot injury while hiking.
But did it have to be that way? Samantha, a former techie/consultant, partnered with Sara Jaramillo, a shoe designer, and Dr. Roxann Clarke, a foot doctor, to come up with a line of high heels that would project the power and confidence she loved, without the pain she deplored.
Ally Shoes are made with fit and weight distribution as key components of design. Not one bit of style is sacrificed along the way; the heels are made of gorgeous leather and suede and have an elegant silhouette.
In a LinkedIn article she wrote last year, Samantha asserts, “Since day one, the vision behind Ally was not just about the heel, but also about becoming the best ally to ambitious women everywhere. To ensure we could create an empathetic and innovative product, I brought together a team of women from diverse professional and personal backgrounds to create a product suitable for all of our needs – a product that WE had always wanted but never found.”
It’s always good to have an Ally.
