Sam and Chrissy founded Ella & Oak to make shopping for bridal wear memorable and exhilarating…for all of us. Despite new data showing that the average American woman is a size 16-18, many bridal boutiques have a dearth of even those sizes, let alone dresses in the upper 20s range. Chrissy and Sam saw an obvious need, and had some great ideas about filling it.
The Ella & Oak try-on box includes up to three dresses, clips to help with the try-on, measuring tape to determine the size for the final dress order, and a label for easy returns…plus a few fun little gifts. Sam and Chrissy also provide VIP pop-up try-ons in cities across the nation for a different experience. Those spots tend to book fast.
It was Chrissy’s own experience shopping for a wedding dress that fostered the notion that there really had to be a better way. Her background in customer engagement informed her depth of understanding of how to make dress shopping amazing for women of real size. Sam’s experience in marketing for major retailers was key to elevating Ella & Oak’s profile.
It’s been an amazing start for this young company. They’ve gotten funding and a lot of publicity. And with the rise of body confidence for everyone, their timing could not have been better.
