Founder Feature: Nona Lim

You can’t say Nona Lim is a trendy entrepreneur. This business owner was pre-trend with her online meal delivery model, established in 2006 in the Bay area. Next up was a food-based detox program in 2010. Nona Lim launched fully in 2014 with a line of clean, Asian-inspired products including bone broths, ramen, and rice noodles.

Nona’s inspiration was her experience of the power of food as functional medicine in her career as professional fencer. Her observation of how her physical performance and recovery were influenced by the foods she ate led to the development of her meal boxes. The incredible reception of the meal delivery program led her to develop the products Nona Lim sells today.

Noma Lim has done spectacularly well in its first five years, receiving funding from major VC firms. The company is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the largest third-party certifier of women-owned businesses in the US and a leading advocate for female founders.
