Founder Feature: Lynn Le

Lynn Le named her business, Society Nine, with gratitude and reverence for the legal action that made women and sports compatible words in the American lexicon. Title IX provides protection of women’s equality in education and has become synonymous with women’s collegiate athletics.

Lynn credits combat fitness with changing her life, and now she’s fostering women’s involvement in that arena with a line of boxing gloves and active apparel. Society Nine’s initial focus was on creating a glove that really fit, protected, and worked with a woman’s hand. Leggings, tanks, and other activewear have rounded out Society Nine’s offerings. As Society Nine’s website says, you wouldn't train for a marathon wearing shoes two sizes too big.

Lynn is a fierce advocate of women claiming their space in our society. As she says, “What matters to us is that you walk into the world, knowing that you are capable of anything.” To that we say “Amen!”
