Founder Feature: Lori Barzvi

Love, Lori is the signature of an ongoing letter…of grief, gratitude, and grit. Lori Barzvi founded her brand of foot care products during a long, soul-searching journey after the death of her beloved brother, Guy.

Guy was only 29 when he died in the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Towers. The night before the world turned upside down, Guy and Lori had a three-hour heartfelt conversation about the importance of doing work you really love and believe in. Guy was planning to make that change in his life. Tragically, he never got to do it.

Lori took up the mantle. It was in no way a linear path. Several of her businesses failed, and it took years for Love, Lori to come to life. One of her failed businesses, a dance studio, provided the inspiration for the company that would ultimately succeed. Dancing is notoriously hard on feet, and Lori saw an opportunity to make a difference. After a long haul of fine-tuning her first offering, a unique moisturizing soap/pumice stone combination, Lori was ecstatic to see My Solemate become an Amazon bestseller and the recipient of an A- rating from Good Morning America (an A, according to the rater, is reserved for products that end world hunger!).

We give Lori Barzvi an A+++ for surviving tragedy and failure, and building a successful business with a name that speaks from the heart.
