Founder Feature: Jennifer Yen

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Jennifer Yen played the infamous TV villain Vypra in the Power Rangers. As Queen of the Dark World, Jennifer spent long hours on set in heavy makeup. Years of acting took a toll on her skin and completely changed her complexion. After trying everything her dermatologist recommended, she decided to take her skincare routine back to her roots.

Jennifer turned to her grandmother in search of the secret to her beautiful complexion. Her grandmother’s traditional Asian rituals healed her skin and inspired her to create a skincare line of her own. Jennifer left Vypra’s wings and horns behind, along with the heavy makeup, to take on a new role as an entrepreneur.

Blending her grandmothers tried and true beauty secrets with modern science, Jennifer created Purlisse, a high-performance, transformative line of products for sensitive skin. With no beauty or business experience, Jennifer had to work twice as hard as her competition. Combined with her unwavering desire to share her family’s wisdom and help women fall in love with their skin, Jennifer built Purlisse into a top skincare brand.
