“In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.” (Aristole, a long time ago)
Hiraa Khan and Anum Tariq, like Aristotle, believe that bringing nature into our lives does our bodies and souls good. They founded Ansel & Ivy because they knew that the process of bringing nature into our lives is often more easily said than done.
Ansel & Ivy delivers house plants to your door, potted and with complete care instructions. Think a meal delivery service, but instead of cooking the plants, you provide them a sunny spot, water, and a little fertilizer. And for every plant sold, the company donates to One Tree Planted, an organization committed to reforestation around the world.
Hiraa and Anum became friends and roommates while at UC Berkeley. After graduation, Hiraa developed an app for charitable giving, GiveMob, along with CrowdDefend, a crowdfunding platform in the legal area. Anum freelanced as a fashion illustrator, art director, and creative consultant. They joined forces to launch Ansel & Ivy, harnessing Hiraa’s technical skills and Anum’s eye for design.
By delivering plants to dwellings and planting trees where they’re needed, Anum and Hiraa are certainly spreading “something of the marvelous” with Ansel & Ivy.
