How Can You Help Support Founders Today? →

Founder Feature: Emily Santamore

Emily Santamore, founder/designer at Rune NYC, believes women want to be comfortable. If they can look great doing it, BONUS! She decided to make both things happen when she founded Rune NYC in 2013.

Her own difficulty with leggings that required constant tugging up was the inspiration for Emily’s clothing line. Especially during her pregnancy, leggings that fit well, stayed put, and provided support were impossible to find. As is the case with so many female founders, necessity was the mother of invention.

Emily shared the best advice she’s received with Little Hoboken, an online resource for moms and families: “…Once you fill seats with the right capable bodies you will see your business grow…When you have the right people in your corner and are finally able to hire qualified people, the business does grow. We can’t do it all ourselves, so it's important to identify your strengths and your weaknesses and then onboard people that can do what you can’t.”
