Founder Feature: Christy Goldsby

There’s no shortage of love on Honey Mama’s Instagram messages. Christy Goldsby’s cacao-nectar bars have serious fans. Healthyish writer Emma Mannheimer had this to say about them: They are marvels of mind-melting decadence with the ambrosial mouthfeel of classic chocolate frosting. Sounds like love!

So how did this wonderful thing happen? Christy is a former baker who got into the healthier foods movement in 2011. By 2013, she had launched Honey Mama’s with a line of four flavors. Her bars are made with only five ingredients, and are naturally free of soy, eggs, dairy, gluten, and grains.

Honey Mama’s has received a lot of love from the food industry as well. Its Nibs & Coffee Cacao Nectar Bar took home the sweet snack gold medal at the 2018 sofi Awards, and its Mayan Spice Cacao Nectar Bar received the bronze the same year.

Christy said, “I believe the foods we eat and the people we share meals with 100% impact our health, happiness, and ability to thrive.” And apparently, our ability to love!
