Hello, female fashion industry? Um, I noticed that you seem to be overlooking women in the 40-55 age range. And, also? What’s with designing with a sample size of 0-2? Have you looked around you? Just saying. – Bettina Benson, aka Chloe Kristyn
Okay, so maybe that’s a purely fictitious conversation, but it’s a fairly accurate account of Bettina Benson’s appraisal of the world of women’s fashion circa 2015.
Bettina had a long-standing interest in fashion and design as well as business, having earned an MBA from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. While a student, she developed an online business selling fashion-forward clothing at prices geared to college student budgets.
Her initial work life focused on the pharmaceutical field. After becoming a mother and returning to the South, her professional direction shifted to her previous love of fashion.
Bettina had experienced firsthand the less than stellar fashion options available to the modern woman. Wanting to produce and sell clothing that was classic and figure friendly, but enhanced with feminine details and bold original prints, Bettina put in the hard work of developing a team that would bring her vision to life.
Chloe Kristyn launched its website and Instagram account in 2016. An initial focus on mother/daughter pairings evolved into a concentration on women’s clothing exclusively.
Bettina’s drive to help women feel empowered and at their best is evidenced in Chloe Kristyn’s partnership with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF). AVLF, in association with the Partnership Against Domestic Violence, provides legal assistance and ancillary services to victims of domestic violence.
