Founder Feature: Andrea Weinberg

Transformers for grown women. That’s one way to look at Andi New York’s line of versatile bags for women on the go.

Andrea Weinberg founded Andi New York with her line of lightweight, all-weather, lifetime-warrantied bags in response to her own busy lifestyle. She initially set out to design a weatherproof cover for another bag. That prototype turned out to be the product all on its own.

Creating another “thing” in a culture overrun by things was a philosophical challenge for Andrea. Her plan was to create a gadget, not a fashion item. Fortunately for us, the Andi New York bag is both.

After going through a cycle of 68 iterations, Andrea’s line of bags is useful, cruelty-free, and of such high quality that they come with lifetime warranties. Andrea is dedicated to running a good company, which means that her bags are produced in factories with strict environmental and labor standards. Additionally, the company participates in 1% for the Planet, a global movement to encourage companies to give 1% of their sales back to the environment. Plans for the future include shifting the composition of the bags to plastics from recycled water bottles.

Andi New York is sold online and at several retail outlets.
