Kathy Kramer is blessed with the kind of figure rappers extol in their songs…a smaller waist with bigger hips. Okay, so that’s not how most rappers describe the physique we’re talking about here, but you get the idea.
Pants that fit her hips meant a waistline that was too big, so Kathy would invariably pair a belt with her jeans and dress pants. That was fine in sweater weather. But when the occasion called for a sleek, form-fitting top, those belts looked bulky and unflattering.
Figuring there had to be a better way, Kathy experimented with different approaches and came up with a design for the Invisibelt. She drew on the technology and materials behind the invisible bra strap. Naysayers were not in short supply, but feedback she received from actual wearers encouraged her to move forward. Invisibelt was born in 2007.
Her product line has expanded to include Invisibelt Man, Invisibelt Bump (a maternity belt), a collection for girls, and gold cuffs. Kathy’s also added an ingenious BootyWrap, kind of a like a tied-around your waist hoodie, but with places for all your stuff.
